Nature’s Real Life Heroes

30 July 2017

World Ranger Day recognises and celebrates the accomplishments and work done by rangers around the world, giving their lives to protect natural and cultural resources, and commemorates rangers killed or injured in the line of duty. There are different approaches that help rangers get the work done.

The feature was developed by IUCN’s Global Protected Areas Programme to acknowledge the work rangers do around the word and at the frontline of nature conservation. BIOPAMA is one of the programmes that provides support to rangers, through its capacity development programmes in Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific regions.
